Howdy folks! I’m Cowgirl Lazarie, but you can call me Zarie for short. As an intern here at Camp Casey through Urban Neighborhoods Initiative, I’ve been tremendously grateful to have the opportunity to assist children and their families with our programs. Prior to my first Horsey House Call, which was last week, I was told numerous stories about how fun it is to be a part of. At my first Horsey House Call, I was a tad bit nervous, but I eventually realized that the stories that were told to me were absolutely accurate!

I was thrilled to play games and be silly with children! The craft stations are super fun, and gave me a chance to bond with the children. I helped kiddos safely ride the horse, as I stood alongside them. Seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces reassured me that I actually was doing a great job. I made a difference in the life of family in my own hometown! Nothing can compare to the feeling of giving back and serving others. I thank Camp Casey for offering such amazing programs, and for allowing me to contribute to them! I am super happy to call myself a Camp Casey cowgirl!

In health and horses,
Cowgirl Zarie ❤
