Our annual Trail Ride Cook Out is coming up on Saturday, October 7, and we couldn’t be more excited!
If you’re new to Camp Casey, our Trail Ride Cook Out is an annual Outlaw Outing event that takes place every fall, and I have to admit – it’s my favorite! We invite all our Camp Casey families out for a cost-free day of fun at Maybury Riding Stable. We have a BBQ lunch and bring all sorts of fun games and crafts to enjoy. Everyone has a chance to take a beautiful horseback ride through Maybury State Park, too! All of this is great, but my favorite part of the day is spending time just visiting and reconnecting with the families we’ve served.
We always hold this event in the fall as a way to wrap up our crazy programming season and it’s always so…refreshing! After a long, hot, busy summer of Horsey House Calls and Cowboy Camp Outs, we get to sit down and really plug into the families we’ve met along the way. These wonderful families go through so much, and we are so lucky to be on the journey with them.
This year, we’re excited to partner with Kentucky Fried Chicken for a delicious lunch with all the fixings! We’re also incredibly grateful for our friends at the Royal Oak Optimists Club who have come on board to sponsor the Outing for our families. Thank you to our wonderful friends in the community!
Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are still available – email katie@camp-casey.org for more ways to help!
